Australian Embassy Official Visits Silliman

Australian Embassy Counsellor for Political and Public Affairs Mr. Richard Rodgers visited Silliman University last week.

The Counsellor was on campus to represent Ambassador Bill Tweddell in the awarding of a special certificate to Dr. Garry Russ, a renowned professor in marine biology in James Cook University, with whom the University has closely collaborated for more than three decades on research projects on marine reserves, coral reefs, and coastal resource management.

He was welcomed to the campus by Silliman President Dr. Ben S. Malayang III. The Counsellor also had the chance to meet with other officials of the University and discuss issues relative to the University's involvement in projects in the areas of environmental conservation and good governance funded by the Australian government.
