5th Grader competes in International Mathematics Competition

A fifth grader from the Elementary Department joins the Philippine delegation to the International Mathematics Competition on July 31 to August 3 in Singapore.

Carlos Miguel Angelo S. Salazar was among only 48 students from around the Philippines who made it through a series of rigorous training and examinations. He was the only one from Negros Oriental who clinched a spot in the final stretch of the selection process.

A consistent honor student, Carlos has competed in the same international math competition in Hong Kong for the last two years. He has bagged a total of two three medals: two silver and a bronze.

On August 6, he is set to compete in the Australian Mathematics Competition in Cebu City.
