2 Junior High School Students Qualify for National Schools Press Conference


Two Junior High School students will be among the Negros Island Region (NIR) representatives to the National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) 2017 on January 22 to 25 at Pagadian City.

Natania Shay S. Du placed 2nd in Editorial Writing (English) while Jeuz Jonan B. Kitane ranked 2nd in Photojournalism (Filipino) during the Regional Schools Press (RSPC) on November 11 to 12, 2016 at Bacolod City. Mr. Renelito C. Caballo and Mrs. Alberta A. Alaban serve as their advisers.

Only the top three winners in each category in the RSPC will qualify to compete in the NSPC.

The NSPC was established in 1991, in pursuant to Republic Act 7079, also known as the Campus Journalism Act of 1991. It is the country’s largest and highest intellectual competition for journalism in both private schools and public elementary and high schools in the Philippines.
