English Instructor Leaves for US on Fulbright Fellowship

An instructor at the English and Literature Department leaves for the United States on a fellowship under the Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) program.

ImageMs Lady Flor Partosa is assigned to the Skyline College in San Bruno, California. Her program covers the period of August 2013 to June 2014.

Started in 1968, the FLTA provides an opportunity to foreign teachers to immerse themselves as a teaching assistant in accredited US schools and at the same time be a non-degree student for a year. The program seeks to improve the recipients' teaching ability in a US setting, facilitate cross-cultural exchange in their host university, and develop a better appreciation of the American way of life.

Two years ago, another instructor at the Department participated in the same program.
