SUML facilities have improved considerably
since 1974,
from a one-building unit to a small complex
of four buildings. Today it boasts a two-storey facility constructed
with support from United States Agency for International Development.
The new marine laboratory houses four
laboratories:
It has a library, herbarium and zoological museum,
conference room, visiting scientist
rooms, photo-lab
and administrative offices. The
marine lab has also a dive shop, experimental fishponds and tanks,
culture facilities and mangrove garden.
