Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement Signed
The Administration and the Silliman University Faculty Association (SUFA) signed March 16 the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) which outlines new economic provisions.
A series of negotiations had taken place to ensure that the interests of both parties are promoted. Throughout the negotiations, SUFA had been ardent in purshing for the best interests of its members, and the Administration had been steadfast on its thrust of maintaining and offering new economic benefits that will not compromise the financial standing of the University.
Silliman maintains strict financial management standards in protecting it from a deficit. The new economic provisions of the CBA are a product of a careful evaluation of the University's fiscal initiatives vis-a-vis the need for improved salaries and benefits, and the SUFA's close examination of the same.
A CBA between the Administration and the Silliman University Staff Association (SUSA) had earlier taken place on December 18, 2009.
