SU President:  CBA negotiation a usual process

Dr. Betty Cernol-McCann, Silliman University president assures the students, parents and the entire community that the university is going through the usual process of reviewing the existing Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) in a midterm negotiation with the SU Faculty Association (SUFA).

Atty. Joshua Francisco J. Ablong, Human Resource manager explains that the midterm negotiation is a normal part in the 5-year life cycle of the CBA. Under the law, the CBA is subject for review and negotiation on the 3rdyear.

Ablong reassures the students and the parents that the university is doing its best to arrive at a peaceful and positive resolution in the ongoing process.

For her part, Atty. Karissa Faye R. Tolentino-Maxino, as head of the negotiating panel for the university clarified that the administration continues to “negotiate in good faith and hopes to arrive at acceptable terms for both parties.”
