Location
and Facilities
The Divinity School has
its own academic campus composed of three buildings: James F. McKinley
Hall which houses the classrooms and the business and faculty offices;
the Proculo A. Rodriguez Hall, which contains the main assembly hall,
the faculty and students lounge, and several other offices; and the
Chapel of the Evangel, a center of worship for the seminary community.
Other facilities include dormitories and eight duplex cottages for married
students.
The Divinity School library,
which over the years has received assistance from the Theological Education
Fund (Now Programmed for Theological Education of the WCC) and the Foundation
for Theological Education in S.E.A., is now combined, along with other
Silliman units libraries, in the University Main Library in its beautiful
and new three-story building just behind Rodriguez Hall. The Divinity
School collection contains more than 13,000 books and 120 periodical
titles. While the present collection is small, it includes many of the
standard theological works and the best in recent publications.
The merger of all college
libraries with the Main University Library in its new location has been
designed to promote inter-disciplinary spirit with the various academic
units of Silliman University.
