UCLEM focuses on “making a difference” as a Christian duty

Christians are called to make a difference by being the “salt and light” of the world and influencing others through a life of service, said Rev. Wella Hoyle during the University Christian Life Emphasis Month (UCLEM) Launching and Commissioning Worship Service  Jan. 13 at Silliman University Church.

Members of the SU community – administrators, faculty and staff members, and alumni attended the Sunday morning service.

Held once every semester, the UCLEM is a month-long, inclusive celebration and is one of the major events in the University that affirms the “faith” aspect in SU’s whole-person education. The University Spiritual Life Council leads all the activities for the UCLEM, which provide opportunities for students and members of the SU community, regardless of their faith, to gain a broader understanding of Christianity and spirituality.

The UCLEM theme for this semester is “Sent Out to Make a Difference.”
