Silliman University President Dr. Betty Cernol-McCann met with the Silliman University Student Government on June 16 to discuss important matters and plans for School Year 2018-2019.

The discussion focused on re-enforcing environmental projects and policies in the University with the help of student-led organizations.

Dr. McCann acknowledged the existing initiatives of students in making the campus environment-friendly; these initiatives will be strengthened by the advocacy to make Silliman a “Zero Waste” University. The goal is for the University and the Student Government to collaborate and create a solution that will have a lasting impact on the environment.

Every year, representatives of various colleges and organizations meet with the University President. These meetings serve as a venue for student leaders to raise concerns and issues that affect the whole student body.
