Certificate in Teaching Philosophy
The Certificate of Teaching Philosophy primarily aims to nurture the philosophical interests and competence of each student, and to offer a responsive program of supervised research and instruction dealing with philosophers and philosophical issues both from historical and contextual perspectives. It is designed to be completed in two semesters with 24 units of academic course works and comprehensive exams. The course work is constituted with 18 units of philosophy subjects and 6 units of education subjects.

Certificate of Psychology
The Certificate in Psychology was originally meant for students from the College of Nursing, but the program has been expanded to include course options for students from other colleges (notably those from non-clinical fields) such as the College of Business Administration, the College of Education, the Divinity School, and other departments of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Certificate of Women’s Studies
The Certificates in Human Resource Management and in Gender Studies were designed primarily for Psychology majors, but are also open to non-Psychology students as well as qualified members of the community. Each program offers eighteen (18) units of selected major psychology subjects. Proper advising is done at the Psychology Department and will depend upon the student’s needs. A maximum of nine (9) units of Psychology subjects is allowed per semester. Upon completion of the selected subjects, a certificate in the program of choice is issued to the student.

The Certificate in Southeast Asian Studies is designed for undergraduate and graduate students designed to address the growing awareness among Filipinos of their Asian heritage and a new interest in their neighbors of insular and mainland Southeast Asia who are their racial kinfolk.

The Certificate in Philippine Studies is designed for undergraduate students who choose to emphasize the civilization, history, cultural elements and milieu of the Philippines as part of their general education.

The Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) is designed for students of the university and graduates of baccalaureate programs not related to English language learning and teaching who need to equip themselves with the skills in language teaching and intend to teach or tutor learners of English. This certificate offers 18 units of selected language subjects.

Certificate in Poetry Writing
The Certificate in Poetry Writing is designed for students of the university and graduates of baccalaureate programs not related to Literature or Creative Writing who need to equip themselves with the skills in creative writing, especially in the genre of poetry. It will focus on the critical reading of poetry and intensive practice of the literary form through a study of tradition, literary craft, and theory and criticism. The certificate course offers 18 units of selected literature and creative writing subjects.

Certificate in Short Fiction Writing
The Certificate in Short Fiction Writing is designed for students of the university and graduates of baccalaureate programs not related to Literature or Creative Writing who need to equip themselves with the skills in creative writing, especially in the genre of short fiction. It will focus on the critical reading of short fiction and intensive practice of the literary form through a study of tradition, literary craft, and theory and criticism. The certificate offers 18 units of selected literature and creative writing subjects.

The certificate offers 18 units of selected literature and creative writing subjects.

Certificate in Critical Writing
The Certificate in Critical Writing is designed for students of the university and graduates of baccalaureate programs not related to Literature or Creative Writing who need to equip themselves with the skills in creative writing, especially in the genre of critical writing. It will focus on the close reading of critical essays and intensive practice of the literary form through a study of tradition, literary craft, and theory and criticism. The certificate offers 18 units of selected literature and creative writing subjects.

Certificate in Museology

Certificate in Chemical Technician
Per Republic Act No. 10657, also known as the Chemistry Law of the Philippines, the Certificate in Chemical Technician is designed for those students who completed both in lecture and laboratory the 30 units Chemistry subjects specifically in General Chemistry I & II, Analytical Chemistry 1 & II, and Organic Chemistry I & II, or those graduates who may wish to complete the 30 Chemistry units (as prescribed in R.A. 10657) to qualify as chemical laboratory technicians in chemical industries.  To be a licensed chemical technician, one has to take the national examination for chemical technicians given by the Board of Examiners.

Associate in Chemical Technology 
The title Associate in Chemical Technology is designed in conjunction with the Certificate in Chemical Technician but is awarded only after completion of course requirements up to the junior level as prescribed in the B.S. Chemistry curriculum.  This program qualifies the students to work as chemical technologist both in physical, chemical, biochemical, and biotechnology laboratories.

The takers will at least be Grade 10 graduate.

ChT 20: Analytical Chemistry 1 (3 units)
ChT 30: Analytical Chemistry 2/Instrumentation (3 units)
ChT 40: Organic Chemistry (3 units)
ChT 50: Chemical Safety (3 units)
ChT 60: Chemical Waste Management (3 units)

Note:  Analytical Chemistry 1 may be offered simultaneously with Organic Chemistry provided General Chemistry has been taken by the student(s) already. Laboratories/activities will be integrated in each subject area. If our takers have works on Monday to Friday, then we can have the classes on a Saturday (whole day).

To be certified Chemical Technician, the “student” must take and pass the National Board Examination for Chemical Technician.

College Graduates with 30 units in General Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry both with lecture and laboratory may be allowed to take the National Board Examination for Chemical Technician provided his/her school records must be authenticated by the institution offering it.

This offering is still awaiting PRC approval and will most likely be available second semester of SY 2017-2018.

Certificate in Clinical Pastoral Education
This is a ministry expression of concern of the Divinity School in pastoral and spiritual care ministry through the clinical method of learning. Using the theories and methods of the social and behavioral sciences interfacing with theology, the program seeks to address within a Christian and interfaith and ecumenical framework of pastoral care the pscho-social and spiritual needs of people.

Certificate in Professional Education
The Certificate in Professional Education is designed for non-Education graduates to enroll in 18-units of Education subjects to be able to take the Licensure Examinations for Teachers (LET).   This can only be offered during the regular term only as the Summer program is dedicated for the LET review.


Mass Communication

Certificate in Environmental Journalism
The Certificate in Environmental Journalism (CEJ) is designed to develop/train graduates who are competent in communicating scientific/environmental issues for popular understanding. It provides the student the basic background needed to meet the special demands of covering environmental problems and issues for the mass media, as well as to provide communication support to advocacy activities for the environment. The CEJ is a two-semester course built into the BMC curriculum. A student enrolled in the BMC program may work towards the CEJ by choosing it as his or her area of concentration. In this case he or she takes 18 units under the CEJ curriculum in addition to the 30 units of core courses in the BMC curriculum. The CEJ can also be taken as a separate non-degree program for professionals (holders of the BMC or science-related degrees) for professional upgrading.

Horticulture NC II
This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, desirable skills and attitudes of Horticulture NC II in accordance with industry standards. It covers core competencies in producing vegetable crops, fruit bearing crops, performing post-harvest operations of major tropical fruits, and post-harvest operations for major lowland and semi-temperate vegetable crops.

Contact Center Services NC II 
The CONTACT CENTER SERVICES NC II Qualification consists of competencies that a person must achieve to interact with customers to provide information about products and services.  It also covers handling of customer’s complaints, inbound customer service, order taking and inquiry response handling, and outbound telemarketing.

This Qualification is packaged from the competency map of the Information and Communication Technology Industry (Service sector).
