Award-Winning Pianist to Perform at Luce

Acclaimed Filipino virtuoso pianist Rudolf P. Golez returns to Dumaguete City for another concert, titled 24 Etudes F. Chopin, slated January 31 at the Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium.

Mr. Golez started basic piano lessons at age four. He spent his high school years at the prestigious Juilliard School of Music Preparatory Division in New York City under the tutelage of world-renowned pianist Seymour Lipkin.

He has performed in concerts in the United States, Europe and Asia, including an all-Mozart tour commemorating the composer’s 250th anniversary.

His keenness in depth and subtlety earned him the recognition of being the sole prize-winner at the First ASEAN Chopin InternationalCompetition held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2004.

Mr. Golez, who holds a master’s degree in Piano Performance from the University of the Philippines, continues to teach piano in various universities in the Philippines.
