Please make sure to have a COMPLETE GRADE 12 REPORT CARD (i.e. First Semester & Second Semester) before applying for online admission.


Silliman University adopts an “open admission” policy. In effect, the Silliman University Admission and Placement Examination (SUAPE) is no longer in place.

Admission of first year applicants is based on four (4) criteria:

  • Academic Performance
  • Quality of the School the applicant comes from
  • Interview Results
  • (For Accountancy, Architecture, Engineering, Medical Technology, Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy program applicants) Scores in the Qualifying Exams.

Applicants must be graduates of Senior High School in a public or private school or its equivalent.


Admission Procedures and Requirements

1. The following documents have to be submitted in both soft and hard formats. The online enrollment system will require most of these documents to be uploaded online (read guidelines: https://su.edu.ph/enrollment). However, for SY 2023-2024, your Senior High School report card is essentially required and the rest of the documents may be accomplished within the semester and strictly following the protocols set by the COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases Resolutions.

2. The University requires the following original documents to be mailed or submitted to the Registrar and Admissions Office on or before August 14, 2023.  Please download the Waiver Form (for your lacking documents which will be submitted on or before October 31, 2023, except for Form 138/SHS Report Card) and fill it out then mail or submit it along with your other admission requirements.

    • Form 138 (First & Second Semester Senior High School report card) indicating a general average of at least 80%. Applicants to the Accountancy, Architecture, Engineering, Medical Technology, Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy programs applicants are required a general average of at least 85%.(For applicants to the Accountancy, Architecture, Engineering, Medical Technology, Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, Pharmacy, and Physical Therapy program Applicants) Results of the Qualifying Exam
    • Two statements of good moral character:  (a) one from the previous school attended, and (b) one from a prominent member of the community
    • One recent passport size or 2″ x 2″ picture
    • An official copy of the birth certificate issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO)/Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
    • Medical certificate issued by the University Clinic at the Silliman University Medical Center; the medical certificate will be issued after the applicant submits the following documents to the University Clinic in hard copy:

3. Pay the down payment of PhP5,000 (except for Medical School). Payment can be done at any of the branches of our partner banks (click the link to view a list of partner banks https://su.edu.ph/costs/payment/). These banks will require the ID number of the student to ensure a quick posting in our system. This enables our system to credit the amount against the account of the student. For payments made without the ID number, we request that the validated slip be scanned and sent to us, along with a note on (a) name of the student and (b) purpose and/or breakdown of payment, to the Student Accounts Officer at [email protected], cc [email protected].

Graduate Program

Transfer Applicants

Transfer students are those who have done college work elsewhere and are seeking admission to Silliman University for the first time.  They include those who started college work at Silliman, transferred to other schools and are now seeking re-admission.  This category also covers applicants to the College of Law, Medical School and the Graduate Programs.

Admission Requirements

  1. Transfer credentials (honorable dismissal)
  2. Informative copy of academic records signed by the Registrar of the previous school
  3. Two statements of good moral character: one from the previous school and one from a prominent member of the community
  4. One passport size or 2″ x 2″ copy of latest picture
  5. PhilSAT Certificate of Eligibility( for College of Law applicants)
  6. Certificate of Eligibility(approved CHED Form C-1) for admission in the College of Law
  7. Official copy of birth certificate issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO) / Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
  8. (For applicants to the College of Law, Medical School and Graduate Programs) Additional requirements from these colleges are to be accomplished separately.
  9. Medical certificate issued by the University Clinic at the Silliman University Medical Center; the medical certificate will be issued after the applicant submits the following documents to the University Clinic in hard copy:

Generally, credits for work done from accredited institutions are accepted, provided the student obtained the minimum average grade required for the program.  In some cases, advanced credits will be accepted only on passing a validating examination that usually covers English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Logic.

Returning Applicants

 

Returning students are those who started college work at Silliman University and did not continue to enroll in the following semesters or years but did not enroll in other schools/universities and are now seeking re-admission. They include those who graduated at Silliman University but did not enroll in other schools/universities and are now seeking re-admission.

  1. One latest 2” x 2” or passport size picture.
  2. Good moral certification from the community.
  3. Medical certificate issued by the University Clinic at the Silliman University Medical Center; the medical certificate will be issued after the applicant submits the following documents to the University Clinic in hard copy:

Special Program Applicants

Special Program students are those who are seeking admission to Silliman University under a non-credit course/program.

  1. Photocopy of High School Diploma or Certification of Graduation.
  2. Official copy of birth certificate issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO)/ Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
  3. One latest 2” x 2” or passport size picture.
  4. Medical certificate issued by the University Clinic at the Silliman University Medical Center; the medical certificate will be issued after the applicant submits the following documents to the University Clinic in hard copy:

International Applicants

The Office of the Registrar and Admissions evaluates the course credits and eligibility of students who have completed their secondary course or its equivalent in high school, or have earned credits from colleges outside the Philippines.

A transferring foreign student who desires to earn a degree from Silliman University should submit to the Office of the Registrar and Admissions an original copy of his/her complete academic records, together with detailed description of courses taken and credits earned.  A translation in English must accompany the original transcript of records.  The records should be authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post (PFSP) of the applicant’s country of residence.

Those coming from non-English speaking countries and are deficient in the English language are required to take an Intensive Program in English (IPE) equivalent to 18 units in their first semester on campus.

A foreign student (non-immigrant) who is at least eighteen (18) years old applies to the PFSP of his country of residence for a student visa through Silliman University which issues the letter of acceptance.

The application should include:

  • Accomplished online registration form (read online enrollment guidelines: https://my.su.edu.ph/enrollment)
    Note: There are documents listed below that the online enrollment system does not require to be uploaded as part of an international applicant’s application. These documents must be mailed to the Office of the Registrar and Admissions, along with the rest of which original copies are required.  
  • An original and a duplicate copy of your Transcript of Records authenticated by the PFSP of the applicant’s country of residence.  The authenticated copies must bear the diplomatic red ribbon or Apostille, original signature and seal of the PFSP abroad.
  • A notarized Affidavit of Support with proof of adequate financial support (bank statement) and Letter of Guarantee from sponsoring company/organization from abroad,
  • Birth certificate and photocopy of passport pages showing the name, picture, birth date and birthplace of the applicant
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation from:
    • School last attended
    • Police Department from the applicant’s country of residence
  • Admission fee of US $100.00 in money order payable to Silliman University (non-refundable)

Overseas students must also present their immigration papers as well as a certificate attesting to their competence to do college work.

Graduate Program Applicants

  1. Accomplished Graduate Programs Application Form

  3. Thesis / Dissertation Concept (Essay)
  4. Payment Receipt from the SU Business and Finance Office to show that the applicant has paid the tuition down payment
