Greetings from West Papua! Sillimanians from Mindanau and West Papua recently gathered at the GKI (Evangelical Christian Church) Tanah Papua, Indonesia to relive the Silliman spirit. The alumni group was headed by Yafet and Fransina Yoteni and their daughter Anatasia.  Fransina earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Education at Silliman in 2012. The group expresses how proud they are for being Sillimanians.  The Via, Veritas, Vita has continued to guide them in their various mission work.

The College of Mass Communication, established in 1966 as the first school of journalism outside Metro Manila, is set to give Golden Jubilee Awards this August to recognize its alumni who have made an impact in their respective careers.

In a recent meeting with Dr. Crispin Maslog, the first Filipino Director of the then School of Journalism, and the officers of the Silliman MassCom Alumni Association Negros Oriental Chapter, led by its president Tony Remollo, it was agreed to immediately start the search and accept nominations.

Tony said the Awards is one of the highlights of the 50th anniversary which is a joint project of the MassCom Alumni Association and the College. This will honor achievers among its more than a thousand alumni in various fields of journalism, mass media, public relations, business and the academe, on August 25, 2016, during the Founders Day.

The College of Mass Communication and the MassCom Alumni Association are now calling for nominees. The Placement Desk of the Alumni and External Affairs office invites senior students, alumni and the public to a PAL Express one-day exclusive campus hiring for the position of flight stewardress and flight steward on June 21, 2016, from 8am to 4pm, at the Silliman Hall.

Applicants are highly encouraged to come in business attire (preferably pencil cut skirt, sleeveless blouse [with blazer], formal close toed shoes [at least 2 inches], with hair fixed in a bun for women; and long sleeves with necktie and slacks for men).
