Physics Grad Named Country’s Outstanding Student

A recent graduate of the Physics program of Silliman University was adjudged as one of the Top 10 Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP).

Jonathan Andro P. Tan received his award, along with nine others from different universities in the country, on August 4 at the Rizal Hall of the Malacañang Palace.

Prior to the final search, Tan went through an intensive week-long formation program with the other national finalists.

Tan, who graduated magna cum laude with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Physics, was also awarded Most Outstanding Student of the Year by Silliman University in February 2011. The award recognized his active involvements in the Student Government and organizations, such as the Corps of Campus Ambassadors.

TOSP is considered as the country's top search for young leaders. It is conducted on both regional and national levels, and includes as panelists and facilitators leaders in government, academe and business.

More information about the search can be found on the TOSP website.
