Popular music composer Mr. Ryan Cayabyab (second from left) led a group of music artists during the auditions for the upcoming 2nd Elements National Singing and Songwriting Camp. The screening of applicants from the Visayas was held September 12 at the Music Library of the Silliman University College of Performing and Visual Arts.

Only 30 songwriters and 30 singers will be chosen from around 200 applicants nationwide.

Scheduled November 6 to 10 in Dumaguete City, the Camp offers holistic modules aimed at sharpening the participants’ skills and familiarizing them with the rest of the operations of the music industry. It also features as trainers “big names” in the music industry, including Mr. Gary Valenciano who will cap the Camp with an inspirational talk. Last year’s Camp culminated with a performance at the Silliman University Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium.

Together with Mr. Cayabyab in the photo are (L-R): Mr. Jungee Marcelo, Mr. Jay Durias, Mr. Raymund Marasigan, Mr. Gabby Alipe and Mr. Ebe Dancel.

The Camp is presented by 7101 Music Nation, which is headed by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Julio Sy Jr., a native of Dumaguete.
