United Board Picks MassCom Grad as New Program Officer

College of Mass Communication graduate (1981) Dr. Hope S. Antone is the new Program Officer of the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA).

UBCHEA, through its president Dr. Nancy E. Chapman, formally announced her appointment to its partner universities, including Silliman University. She assumes office effective this month.

Dr. Antone will be based in Hong Kong with functions including assisting in overseeing programs and initiatives of UBCHEA, administering leadership and faculty development programs, and further developing a stronger Christian presence in academic institutions in Asia.

Cited for her broad experience in program development and management, Dr. Antone joins UBCHEA from Payap University in Chiang Mai, Thailand where she was a professor. Her teaching career spans decades and includes lectureships in Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Myamar, Philippines, Korea and Hong Kong. She has also served the Christian Conference in Asia for ten years, and has published several articles in theological journals, books and magazines.

She holds a Doctor of Education from the Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia, USA, a Master of Theology from the Presbyterian Theological College and Seminary in Seoul, Korea, and a Master of Divinity from Silliman University.
