New Committee Oversees ‘Bricks Project’

A new committee at the College of Nursing is overseeing the implementation of the next phases of a project originally aimed at laying 14,000 special patented bricks that represent donations towards the College.

The new committee was convened by Acting Dean Dr. Evalyn Abalos and her immediate predecessor Dean Prof. Florenda Cabatit to assess how to complete the project which was conceptualized in 2008. Prof. Geraldine Anque and Prof. Vienna Nicolasa Noble have been appointed co-chairs of the committee, with members: Ms Amelita Barilea (BSN 1970), Prof. Grace Gloria (BSN 1979), Ms Annaliza Atienza (US-based) and Dr. Abalos.

Each brick represents a donation of $100 and bears either the name of the donor or his or her thoughts. Previous donors can already visit the mini park, which was unveiled last year, where these bricks are the main feature, located between the Olivia Villaflores-Yanson Hall and the Barry Thompson Hall.

The project was initiated by Ms Anita Go (BSN 1970).
