Alumni Updates November 11 – 17, 2019

The Silliman University Alumni Association of New York – New Jersey (SUAA NY-NJ) recently joined Bandastiks 2019, a battle of schools showing off their musical talents between the University of the Philippines Alumni Association in America, Ateneo Alumni Association Northeast Inc., and De La Salle Alumni Association Metro New York Inc., last November 9, 2019 at The Bitter End, West Village in New York City.

SUAA NY-NJ alumni chapter came in full force for the Bandastik epic battle led by chapter president Janette Baloyo-Abella. Also in attendance were Outstanding Sillimanian Awardee Dr. Dely Po Go, Dr. Nella Fe Pineda-Marcon, Joji Juele Jalandoni, Prossy Sevilleno Dagdayan, Dr. Laura Garcia, Cecile Duyongco, Modesta Angela and Erik Dumalag, Eppielyn Ebarle-Villegas, Emma Cruz, Nelia Ragay Elman-Lopez, Suzalin Llena and Carla Angeline Logmao Mongado among others.

De La Salle Alumni Band of Brothers took home the 2019 Bandastik Championship Trophy, Silliman’s – Via Veritas Vita Band, garnered second place, the Ateneo Alumni Band – Full Blown, third place and University of the Philippines Alumni Band – Ish, fourth place.

The Silliman Alumni Chapter of New York-New Jersey will be inducting their newly elected officers on December 7, 2019. This will also serve as the chapter’s Christmas Party Celebration and Fundraiser to support SUACONA’s elevator project for Silliman’s Administration building.
