College of Computer Studies Dean Dr. Dave E. Marcial presented a case study on an integrated research management information system during the United Board Fellows Program Leadership Seminar held June 11 to 15 at the YMCA in Singapore.
The case study by Dr. Marcial, “Understanding Research Infrastructure: An Initiative towards an Integrated Research Management Information System,” was one of only four selected for presentation during the seminar from among a total of 19 Fellows.
A United Board Fellow, Dr. Marcial developed the case study as part of the program that brought him to month-long placements at Boston College in the United States and at the International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan.
The Seminar was the final leg of the United Board Fellowship Program where Fellows of batch 2016 were gathered “to discuss issues of leadership and higher education administration and to share and reinforce their learning on leadership practices.”
Other topics discussed during the seminar included “Whole Person Education, Faith and Leadership,” “Academic Leadership, Ethical Leadership, Building Networks and Fostering Exchanges,” and “Technology Integration in Teaching and Learning.”
Also incorporated into the seminar program was an opportunity for the Fellows to network with counterparts at the National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore Management University and Yale-NUS College.
