We share with you SIMM President Ed Dames' (BMC ’81) recollection of campus life: “On my second week at SU, during enrolment in the summer of 1977, my appendix ruptured. With no family members around to care for me, it was my “new brothers” at the Co-op Dorm (Ipil) who became my substitute family. With the first-class service from the SU Medical Center I got, there was no need for my folks in Bicol to come to Dumaguete to assist my recovery. That was my first taste of the Silliman Spirit.”
