Dr. Malayang, Bishop Cortes Perform in Interfaith Concert
Silliman University and the Diocese of Dumaguete are jointly organizing a benefit interfaith concert dubbed “Amare et Servire” (Love and Service) on February 1 at the Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium.
This is the first-ever interfaith concert conducted by Silliman, a Protestant-affiliated higher education institution, and the Catholic Church in Dumaguete that reinforces the idea of unity and oneness despite differences in faith perspectives.
Proceeds from sponsorships and ticket sales will go towards a common fund that both the University and the Diocese will co-manage in helping support the needs of retired pastors and priests, and in pursuing joint projects for our poor brothers and sisters.
The benefit concert offers two shows: one at 3PM and another at 8PM, both at the Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium of Silliman University.
Both shows feature performances from the Silliman University Goodwill and Gratitude Ambassadors and the clergy of the Diocese of Dumaguete. There will also be special numbers from Silliman President Dr. Ben S. Malayang III and Bishop Julito B. Cortes.
