2 Sillimanians to Attend Aboitiz Leaders Summit
Two students have been chosen as delegates to the prestigious Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit.
Economics senior Genin Raya Amiscaray and Psychology senior Erika Jean Quiñones are bound for Cebu City to attend the summit on November 3 to 5, 2016. They are among 90 college students across the Philippines set to learn about business and leadership.
Erika and Genin both excel in their academics and extra-curricular involvements. Erika is a consistent full scholar of the Aboitiz College Scholarship Program, making her the first Sillimanian to enjoy the scholarship since its launch in 2007. She has also served as vice governor of the College of Arts and Sciences Student Council. On the other hand, Genin is also a consistent honor student and involved with Ang Sandigan and the Heart for a Child advocacy program, which she started after being crowned Miss Silliman in 2015. Both Genin and Erika are members of the Corps of Campus Ambassadors.
Last June, Erika and Genin were also chosen to represent the Negros Island Region in the National Youth Parliament in Iloilo, a youth congress organized by National Youth Commission.
Started in 2006, the Aboitiz Future Leaders Business Summit aims to prepare each student delegate to enter the corporate world, to help them realize their future role in nation-building, and to inspire young Filipinos to develop renewed faith and hope in our country, encouraging them to strive for excellence in all things. It also gives them an opportunity to network and form ties with CEOs, executives, team leaders and team members of the Aboitiz Group of Companies, as well as fellow young leaders.
