Edilberto Bravo, U-Bix Corporation president; Prof. Jane Annette Belarmino, SU Vice President for Development, Enterprises, and External Affairs; Dr. Jenny Chiu, SU Vice President for Finance and Administration; Engr. Edgar Ygnalaga Jr., SU Buildings and Grounds superintendent; and Atty. Myles Bejar, SU general counsel.

In a kick-off ceremony for the construction of the facility held March 18, 2022 at its site, Dr. Betty Cernol McCann led the group from SU in attending the activity with Atty. Edilberto B. Bravo, U-Bix Corporation president; a team from A.C. Tajanlangit Construction Builders and Development Corporation; and the Gallego Architects.

McCann earlier said that the facility would be a hub of incubating science and technology start-ups, not only in the province but the country as well.

On February 18, 2020, SU, represented by McCann, and U-Bix Corporation, through Bravo, signed the Deed of Donation and Acceptance for the facility that will be used for the SU TBI program.

U-Bix Corporation donated to SU 15,000 square meters of land in San Antonio, Sibulan where the Technopreneur Center will be built. The corporation will also donate PhP100 million for the Center’s construction.

Bravo, a self-made entrepreneur and business leader, partnered with SU to establish the Center as a response to the need for a facility in the province that can help develop ideas of aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators.

The SU TBI, which currently operates at the main campus, was launched last December 2019 to help students and professionals develop their early-stage technologies into market-ready products by providing them with a range of resources, services, and facilities.
