SUSG leaders bag 3 awards at international youth camp
Silliman University Student Government (SUSG) president John Christian Entrata and house speaker Enrica Marian Dinopol won “Best Presentation Content” and “Outstanding Presentation,” while Dinopol was named Outstanding Youth Leader at the 10th Asian Youth Leaders Travel and Learning Camp (AYLTLC), February 2-6, 2023 in Singapore.
Entrata, a fourth-year BS Foreign Affairs student, and Dinopol, a second-year BS Business Administration Major in Business Economics student, represented SU and the Philippines in the said camp.
Entrata presented about environmentalism among the youth, while Dinopol presented about youth participation in nation-building.
“Enrica and I felt a huge responsibility in representing Silliman University in the camp. However, we realized that SU and our years in the Student Government have equipped us with the skill set to be able to go to the global scene and represent our alma mater well. It was an opportune time to build lasting networks and our experience as student leaders in our University was really able to help us to be confident and sincere with our intentions from the camp,” said Entrata.
Entrata said there were over 200 delegates from countries across Asia formed into ten teams for the said presentations.
Other delegates from the Philippines represented the following educational institutions: Enderun Colleges, Mapúa University, University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman, UP Visayas, Ateneo de Davao University, and De La Salle University.
The AYLTLC, established in 2012, is an annual gathering of youth leaders across the globe. It aims to train student leaders through activities on cross-cultural interaction and cooperation.
