SU faculty members attend PEAC training of trainers

Dr. Ferdinand M. Mangibin, Silliman University (SU) School of Public Affairs and Governance dean; Asst. Prof. Kemmons S. Kilat, SU Senior High School principal; and SU Senior High School (SHS) faculty members Asst. Prof. Joshua S. Soldivillo and Shemdaryl S. Medez attended the Private Education Assistance Committee’s (PEAC) Training of Trainers for the 2023 In-Service Training (INSET) for SHS Teachers, February 25-27 via Zoom and March 16-19, 2023 at Makati Diamond Residences, Makati City.

Mangibin trained as a National Trainer for Introduction to the Philosophy of the Human Person; Kilat as a National Trainer for Statistics and Probability; Soldivillo as a National Trainer for Physical Science; and Medez as a National Trainer for Physical Education.

After the training, the SU faculty members are expected to design an inter-disciplinal and multi-disciplinal performance task reflective of the four exits of the K to 12 program in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous) world context, and coach SHS teacher-participants during the 2023 INSET for SHS Teachers to do the same.

The training theme was “Assessing Students’ Learning through a Performance Task Reflective of the Four Exits of the K to 12 Program in a Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous (VUCA) World.”

The PEAC INSET is a capacity-building program that addresses the needs of private school administrators and teachers to strengthen and continuously upgrade the quality of their school’s instructional programs.
