College of Education – Teacher Education Department is calling all interested applicants to APPLY

The Silliman University College of Education – Teacher Education Department is calling all interested applicants to APPLY to its Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Special Needs Education, and Bachelor of Secondary Education (major in English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science, or Values Education) for SY 2024-2025!

A. Admission Requirements

The College of Education, Teacher Education Department accepts ALL Senior High School graduates of the Academic Track and Arts & Design Track (regardless of strand). However, BSEd Science majors who are non-STEM/STEAM graduates are required to take augmentation subjects in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.

All applicants for admission must possess the following qualification set by the Academic Promotions and Retention Committee:

FIRST-YEAR APPLICANTS

1. Form 138 / high school report card with a general average of at least 80%
2. Accomplished admissions profile via the Silliman University Application Portal at https://my.su.edu.ph/mysilliman/public/admission.php
3. Certified as a person of good moral character attested by the principal, & two other respected members of the community (from the Barangay and from a prominent member of the community)
4. Two copies of 2×2 pictures taken within the last 6 months
5. Official copy of birth certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
6. A marriage contract, if applicable
7. A write-up on what course to take and the reason(s) for choosing it
Note: Requirements 1-7 must be all submitted to the Admissions Office during the enrollment period.

RETURNING STUDENTS

Returning students must do the following:

1. secure a permit to enroll at the Admission & Registrar’s Office before proceeding with the enrollment;
2. proceed to the College of Education, Teacher Education Department for the advising of subjects.

TRANSFEREE STUDENTS

Students transferring from other schools must do the following:

1. fulfill requirements 2, 3, 4, 5 (under First-Year Applicants section);
2. present a copy of their Transcript of Records (TOR) to the Office of the Registrar & Admission or email to [email protected]. 3. ORA forwards the TOR to the College for further evaluation & recommendation;
4. have at least 85% general average or a QPA of 2.5. Those with general average below 85% or a QPA below 2.5 may be accepted on an On-Probation (OP) status.
5. submit write-up on what course to take and the reason(s) for choosing it.
6. All students must submit copies of their credentials to the College for evaluation purposes, during the interview schedule.

Transferee students are expected to meet the standard set by the College by obtaining a Cumulative QPA of 2.5 in all professional courses. Incoming senior students are required to retake one professional education subject if their grade (CQPA) is below 2.5.

B. Online Enrollment

FIRST-YEAR/TRANSFEREES/RETURNING APPLICANTS

1. All original credentials & other documents required must be submitted directly to the University Admission and Registrar’s Office ([email protected]).
2. A similar copy of documents shall be submitted to the College of Education Teacher Education Department.

CONTINUING STUDENTS
1. Students will be provided with proposed subjects that can be viewed through their mySilliman accounts using the ICT provided password.

SHIFTEES
1. Must have a QPA of 2.5
2. Must submit a duly accomplished copy of their Shifting Form (with grades in all subject areas taken) to the College of Education Teacher Education Department for evaluation
