The Silliman University College of Arts and Sciences – Physics Department is calling all interested first-year applicants to APPLY to its Bachelor of Science in Physics for SY 2024-2025!

All Strands are eligible to apply. No interviews needed. Qualified applicants may proceed with the enrollment procedures through the Silliman University Application Portal: https://my.su.edu.ph/mysilliman/public/admission.php

Meanwhile, prospective B.S. Physics students can contact the SU Physics Department through email if they do not meet the admission requirements.

A. Admission Requirements/Policy for Incoming 1st Year:

The Physics Department observes the Open Admission, Selective Retention Policy in its curricular offering.

B. Specific Admission Requirements before enrolling in the BS Physics Program:

FOR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL (STEM/STEAM STRAND) GRADUATES

1. General Quality Point Average (QPA): 80% or higher.
2. No grade should be lower than 80% in the following subjects:

a. General Biology 1 and General Biology 2
b. General Physics 1 and General Physics 2
c. General Chemistry 1 and General Chemistry 2
d. Pre-calculus and Basic calculus

FOR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL (NON-STEM or NON-STEAM STRAND & NON-ACADEMIC TRACK) GRADUATES

1. General Quality Point Average (QPA): 80% or higher.
2. No grade should be lower than 80% in the following subjects:

a. Earth & Life Science Research 1 (Qualitative research)
b. Physical Science Research 2 (Qualitative research)
c. General Math Inquiries, Investigation & Immersion
d. Statistics & Probability

3. Required to take augmentation subjects (listed below) during the first year after admission and get a SATISFACTORY rating for each:

a. Gen. Bio. (ALA)
b. Physics 00(ALA)2018
c. Chem. 13(2018)
d. Math 00 (AUG) (Pre-calculus, Basic calculus)

FOR HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES UNDER THE OLD, Pre-K12 CURRICULUM
