OSA in Judicial Service appointed as associate justice of Court of Appeals

Outstanding Sillimanian Awardee, Honorable Jeoffre Willkom Acebido, has been appointed as associate justice of the Court of Appeals.

Prior to his appointment to the appellate bench, he served as the Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 41 in Cagayan de Oro. He has carved a reputation for integrity and principled adjudication, which led him to receive the Chief Justice Cayetano Arellano Award for Judicial Excellence.

In its congratulatory post, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines – Misamis Oriental Chapter cited Honorable Acebido’s “…courage in handling complex and controversial cases, often under intense pressure, [reflecting] his deep fidelity to the Constitution and to the cause of justice.”

Honorable Acebido was conferred the Outstanding Sillimanian Award for Judicial Service in 2013. He graduated from Silliman University with the Bachelor of Laws degree in 1986.
