Theme: “Embracing Christ’s Peace, Cultivating Care, and Re-Visioning Excellence”

VERSES:

Matthew Collosians 3:15-17:
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Anthem: In Christ Alone; God Will Make A Way;

ABOUT THE LOGO

In describing her design, Miano shared that each number in the founding year, 124, carries deep symbolic meaning.

The number 1 features a tower resembling a pole, inspired by the Portal West of Silliman University—a well-loved space where people gather, relax, and connect. A graduation cap sits atop the number, symbolizing the Silliman community’s commitment to learning. The lamp represents a child’s bright future, while the key signifies that education unlocks doors to success.

The number 2 centers on Jesus Christ. It takes the form of a vine, evoking growth in kindness and honesty. Embedded within it are a cross and vines, which symbolize Christ’s love and truth.

The iconic Silliman tower, a historic symbol of both the university and Dumaguete City, is also incorporated.

The number 4 includes a book and quill, representing Silliman’s motto: Via, Veritas, Vita—The Way, The Truth, and The Life. Figures of people are also included, representing the students of Silliman striving to live with respect, compassion, and care.

Surrounding the numbers is this year’s Founders Day theme: “Embracing Christ’s Peace, Cultivating Care, and Re-Visioning Excellence.” This theme serves as a reminder for all Sillimanians to live with peace in their hearts, care for others, and continually pursue excellence.
