SU appoints Engr. Debonaire Mamhot as FMAS chief

Silliman University has appointed Engr. Debonaire Mamhot as its Chief of Facilities Management and Administrative Services, a role that provides strategic leadership in ensuring the efficient, safe, and sustainable operation of the university’s physical infrastructure and support services.

Under his supervision are three major units. The Facilities Management Office oversees building and property administration, electrical and air-conditioning maintenance, civil works and carpentry, housekeeping and groundskeeping, mechanical services, motor pool operations, and logistics and inventory. Also reporting to his office are the Campus Security and Disaster Management, as well as the Occupational Safety and Health Services.

Engr. Mamhot is a licensed Electrical Engineer with over two decades of leadership experience in geothermal energy operations, facility management, and performance engineering. A proud Sillimanian, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Silliman University, where he also completed high school and pursued MBA units.

He held key leadership roles at the Energy Development Corporation (EDC) and the National Power Corporation, overseeing the operations of large-scale geothermal power plants and implementing systems that enhanced efficiency, safety, and sustainability. As Facility Head of the EDC Negros Facility, he managed multiple geothermal plants with capacities ranging from 20MW to 49.5MW. He also served as Operations Manager, Performance Head, and Maintenance Manager, consistently demonstrating innovation, strategic thinking, and a commitment to developing engineering talent.
