TESDA regional directors visit SU

The Silliman University Technical Educational Vocational and Entrepreneurial Center (SU TEVEC), headed by Blanchie M. Utzurrum, welcomed to the campus two regional directors (RDs) from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), one of SU’s essential government partners in its trifocalization of education, on July 3, 2025.

Niña Connie G. Dodd, TESDA Negros Island Region (NIR) interim regional director, and Gamaliel B. Vicente, Jr., TESDA Region VII regional director, quickly dropped by SU for a campus tour and a courtesy visit to the office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research (VPAAR) where they were met by Dr. Margaret Helen U. Alvarez, VPAAR and concurrent Office of the President officer-in-charge, together with Utzurrum. They discussed potential additional partnerships in training services and scholarships, among other things.

After visiting the SU Library and the Uytengsu Transformative Learning Center, as well as the Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium, the group then proceeded to the SU Training Center at the College of Agriculture (CoA) to meet the students taking up Organic Agriculture Production NC II. They also visited SU Scheide Farm’s Farm Operations and Productions shop where they were welcomed by Rafael B. Nepomuceno, farm manager, who introduced the team to the different products available. They also met Dr. Jose Edwin C. Cubelo, CoA dean.

The campus tour was spearheaded by the Silliman University Corps of Campus Ambassadors (SUCCA).
