Sillimanian joins UN SDGs Youth Convergence in Palawan

Bianca Ysabel T. Muñoz, representing the Silliman University Student Government Advocacy Committee, participated in the UN SDGs Youth Convergence held on November 20–23, 2025, in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.
Organized by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) in partnership with UNICEF and the United Nations, the gathering marked the 10th anniversary of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event brought together around 300 young leaders from across the Philippines to deepen their understanding of the 17 SDGs and to inspire local initiatives aimed at advancing the goals before 2030.
The convergence opened at the Puerto Princesa Coliseum, where participants received an orientation and overview of the four-day program. On the second day, delegates were immersed in various ecological and cultural sites across the city.
Muñoz joined visits to the Puerto Princesa Underground River, Hundred Caves, and the firefly sanctuary in Iwahig. These activities were designed to highlight the city’s strong commitment to environmental preservation.
Workshops were held on the third day at Aziza Paradise Hotel, where participants were grouped based on their areas of interest. Muñoz attended the PEACE workshop, which focused on themes of justice, prosperity, and peace. Delegates also drafted community-based frameworks inspired by their workshop discussions.
The convergence concluded on the fourth day with closing rites, during which Muñoz delivered a solidarity message on behalf of her group.
