Silliman University Senior High School (SUSHS) participated in the 2nd ABM Accounting Olympiad held on December 5, 2025, conducted online via Zoom/SH205 from the SUSHS Building.
Representing Silliman University were Franco Miguel and Ma. Princess Rouie Rubin, Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) students from the Senior High School Department, under the guidance of their coach, Molceshane M. Pocong.
Competing against teams from 24 schools nationwide, the Silliman University team placed 7th overall in the competition.
Organized to strengthen students’ competencies in accountancy and business, the Olympiad aimed to promote academic excellence among ABM senior high school students.
The event tested participants’ mastery of Fundamentals of Accountancy, Business, and Management (FABM) 1 and 2, covering topics such as cash and trade discounts, income and business taxation, value-added tax (VAT) computations, bank reconciliation, depreciation, and interest. It also sought to uphold integrity, professionalism, and healthy competition by providing a venue for students to benchmark their accounting skills against peers from across the country.
The competition required each participating school to field one team composed of two ABM students and one designated coach.
The 2nd ABM Accounting Olympiad consisted of 30 questions divided into three rounds: Easy, Average, and Difficult, with 10 questions per round. Questions were presented in multiple-choice, identification, and problem-solving formats to assess both theoretical knowledge and practical application of accounting principles.
