SU SHS student among the delegates to the 14th ASEAN Schools Games

Silliman University Senior High School student-athlete Kacie Gabrielle Tionko represented the Philippines in the 14th ASEAN Schools Games (ASG) after her inclusion in the national delegation was approved by the Department of Education.

Tionko, a swimmer, was among the carefully selected student-athletes who competed in the regional sporting event held in Brunei Darussalam from November 20 to 29, 2025. The Philippine contingent was formed through a collaboration between the Department of Education and the Philippine Sports Commission.

Hosted by Brunei, the 14th ASG gathered student-athletes from across Southeast Asia to compete in events such as basketball, badminton, swimming, and wushu. Team Philippines finished fourth overall, earning 43 medals11 gold, 10 silver, and 22 bronze.

Beyond competition, the ASEAN Schools Games serve as a platform for youth development, character-building, and cultural exchange. The 2025 edition carried the motto “Dream, Strive, Achieve,” embodied by the official mascot Wira, highlighting the Games’ emphasis on sportsmanship and regional camaraderie.
