The Silliman University College of Education (SUCoE) has once again affirmed its commitment to excellence in teacher education after producing 64 newly licensed professional teachers in the September 2025 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT).

Meanwhile, 46 Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) graduates recorded an impressive 97.92% passing rate for first-time takers and a 94% overall passing percentage.

Further highlighting its strong performance, SUCoE ranked 10th among the Top Performing Schools in the country in the Secondary Level category with 50–99 examinees, reinforcing the College’s longstanding tradition as a leader in pre-service teacher preparation.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission, 21,967 out of 43,035 examinees passed the Elementary Teachers Examination, posting a national passing rate of 51.04%. Meanwhile, 52,729 out of 79,493 examinees passed the Secondary Teachers Examination, with a passing rate of 72.62%

Dr. Gina F. Bonior, SU CoE dean, emphasized that the achievement reflects a shared and collaborative success. She credited the perseverance of the graduates, the resolute support of their parents, the guidance of student teaching mentors from Silliman University School of Basic Education and partner DepEd public schools, the dedication of practicum supervisors, the competence and commitment of SUCoE faculty and staff, and the sustained support of the Silliman University administration and key stakeholders.

As Silliman University continues its mission of forming competent, compassionate, and values-driven educators, the CoE stands firm in its role as a premier institution for teacher education in the country.
