UCLEM begins Commissioning and Launching service of volunteers at SU Church

The Silliman University Christian Life Emphasis Month (UCLEM) officially opened with a Launching and Commissioning Service for volunteers on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the Silliman University Church, marking the start of a month-long spiritual formation program for the university community.
Organized by the SU Church in partnership with the University Spiritual Life Council (USLC), this semester’s UCLEM carries the theme “God Leads,” drawn from Genesis 12:1–3 and Matthew 28:16–20.
The service gathered deans, directors, facilitators, faith coordinators, and volunteers who were formally commissioned for their respective roles across academic units.
Rev. Jonathan R. Pia delivered the sermon, “Listen, God is Calling You,” reflecting on Genesis 12:1–3 and encouraging the community to respond faithfully to God’s call.
The worship service was led by the pastoral team, with music from the Covenant Choir under the direction of Dr. Elizabeth Susan V. Suarez, and support from liturgists Irma Faith B. Pal, College of Mass Communication dean, and Novee E. Maestrecampo, Jr., Office of Community Engagement and Service-Learning director; organists/accompanists; and ushers and greeters from the Kapunungan sa mga Mass Communicators and the Ushering Ministry.
Academic units are reminded to take note of their respective UCLEM schedule, available through the official university link here: https://su.edu.ph/university-christian-life-emphasis-month-schedule-of-activities/.
