
Dr. Cleope elected Head of National Committee on Historical Research

Dr. Earl Jude Paul L. Cleope, former Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research and a faculty member of the History and Political Science Department of Silliman University, has been elected as head of the National Committee on Historical Research (NCHR) for the 2026–2028 term.
The NCHR is a national body under the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) tasked with advancing historical research and scholarship in the country. It brings together historians and researchers from across the Philippines to support research initiatives, scholarly exchanges, and policy recommendations that contribute to the study, preservation, and interpretation of Philippine history.
Cleope is a recognized scholar and academic leader whose work spans historical research, higher education administration, and public scholarship. His election reflects the confidence of the historical research community in his leadership and vision for strengthening historical inquiry and collaboration at the national level.
