SU welcomes ACSCU-ACi Team of Accreditors for three-day JHS Resurvey Visit

Silliman University (SU) welcomed the Association of Christian Schools, Colleges and Universities-Accrediting Council, Inc. (ACSCU-ACI) Team of Accreditors for the Junior High School Resurvey Visit on February 17–20, 2026.

Dr. Betty Cernol McCann, SU president, welcomed the guests during a welcome dinner organized by the Office of Quality Instruction and Excellence (OQIE) at the SU Library yesterday, February 17, 2026.

The visiting team is composed of Dr. Isabelo V. Susada of the Adventist University of the Philippines (AUP), serving as chairman and overseeing Vision, Mission, Goals, Objectives and Outcomes, Organization and Administration; Dr. Evelyn T. Malenab of ACSCU-ACI, assigned to Physical Plant and Facilities, Student Services, and Social Orientation and Community Involvement; Ms. Romana C. Bacani of Grace Christian College, in charge of Faculty, Curriculum and Instruction, and Laboratories; and Mr. Cyrus M. Bobier of the AUP, assigned to the Library.

Susada, who initially introduced his team to the SU executives, expressed excitement and gratitude for the experience, highlighting the importance of learning from each other.

“We can learn from you. That’s the exciting part of visiting the school—we can learn from each other. We can see the commitment that you have for quality education [and], at the same time, the spiritual development of the students,” he added.

McCann was joined by Dr. Lily Ann D. Bautista, vice president for Academic Affairs and Research (VPAAR) and concurrent OQIE director; Dr. Robert S. Guino-o II, executive director for Research, Publication, and Innovation (RPI) and concurrent SUACKREM director; Dr. Warlito S. Caturay Jr., Office of Media and Public Affairs (OMPA) chief; Dr. Elve O. Nasvik, College of Education associate dean; Asst. Prof. Kristine N. Busmion, Junior High School Department principal; Asst. Prof. Arnel Z. Faller, Theology librarian and SU Library librarian-in-charge; Renalito Caballo, JHS English subject coordinator; and Bernie Z. Aranas, OQIE program coordinator.
