Twenty scholars of Organic Agriculture Production NC II from the Silliman University Technical Educational Vocational and Entrepreneurial Center (SU TEVEC) were assessed 100 percent competent by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), marking a milestone as they completed their training and officially graduated on February 27, 2026.

The 20 graduates were recognized during SU TEVEC’s 45th Graduation Ceremony held at the Silliman University Government Affairs (SUGA) Center at the SU Farm. Led by TEVEC Head Blanchie M. Utzurrum, the event highlighted the scholars’ successful completion of the Organic Agriculture Production NC II program.

Organic Agriculture Production NC II is a 232-hour TESDA course designed to equip learners with competencies in chemical-free farming. The program covers the production of organic vegetables, fertilizers, and natural concoctions, as well as raising organic chicken, with elective components for hogs and small ruminants. The course aligns with Republic Act No. 10068, which promotes and develops organic agriculture in the country.

Representing the TESDA Provincial Director, Jicyl Ann L. Anguring, Senior TESD Specialist, encouraged them to make a difference using the skills they acquired from their TESDA training.

Anguring reminded the 20 scholars to take pride in being beneficiaries of a scholarship, expressing hope that the opportunity would increase their income-generating capabilities and support the government’s efforts to advance organic agriculture production.

Dr. Mae Brigitt Bernadel L. Villordon, assistant to the President for Institutional Affairs, emphasized the program’s alignment with the University’s mission.

“This Organic Agriculture Production NC II program reflects the very heart of Silliman’s mission: to provide quality education grounded in faith, excellence, and service. We believe in whole-person education—forming not only skilled individuals but principled stewards of God’s creation. In agriculture, this means nurturing competence with conscience, productivity with sustainability, and innovation with responsibility,” Villordon said.

“By equipping 20 scholars with nationally recognized competencies in organic agriculture production, Silliman University contributes to building a new generation of agricultural practitioners who are technically prepared, environmentally conscious, and community-oriented,” she added.
