SU TEVEC graduates 125 trainees in ECCD, animal production

Silliman University’s Technical Educational Vocational and Entrepreneurial Center (SU TEVEC) graduated 125 trainees during its 47th Graduation Ceremony on September 4, 2026, at the Claire Isabel McGill Luce Auditorium.

The graduating class comprised 105 Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) National Certificate (NC) III graduates and 20 Animal Production (Swine) NC II graduates.

Serving as graduation speaker, Dr. Lily Ann D. Bautista, vice president for Academic Affairs and Research, challenged the graduates to carry four principles into their next chapter: keep learning, take pride in their work, never give up, and remember that they have the power to make a difference.

Bautista encouraged the graduates to remain open to continuous learning, perform every honest task with competence and integrity, persevere through setbacks and small beginnings, and use their skills to benefit their families and communities. Bautista reminded them that “your certificate is an achievement, but it is also a responsibility,” and urged them to move forward with “knowledge, pride, perseverance, and purpose.”

TESDA Negros Island Region Regional Director Niña D. Dodd congratulated the graduates and commended the partnership between TESDA and Silliman University.

She also highlighted the ECCD NC III graduates as pioneers, being the first graduates of the qualification in Negros Oriental, and emphasized the importance of professionalizing childcare work.

TESDA Negros Oriental Provincial Director Fletcher B. Gumahad also recognized the graduates’ achievement and underscored their roles in shaping young children’s development and contributing to food security through animal production.

He commended Silliman University for its commitment to quality technical-vocational education, describing education as a tool for self-development and poverty reduction.

Also present were Love Joy D. Jariol, DSWD 4Ps Project Development Officer; Grace A. Ty, SU Board of Trustees Trustee-in-Residence; Rev. Jonathan R. Pia, SU Church university chaplain; Dr. Warlito S. Caturay Jr., Office of Media and Public Affairs chief; Dr. Ralton D. Bancairen, Office of Registration and Records Management chief; Dr. Jaruvic C. Rafols, Office of Student Services OIC dean; and Dr. Gina F. Bonior, College of Education dean.
