NY-NJ Alumni Chapter boosts SU with $12,000 in donations for scholarships and Alumni Hall

Demonstrating their enduring commitment to their alma mater, the Silliman University Alumni Association New York-New Jersey (SUAANYNJ) Chapter recently turned over a total of USD 12,000 in donations to support vital university scholarships and infrastructure developments.
Of the total amount, USD 10,000 is dedicated to various ongoing scholarship programs supported by the chapter. These include the Working Student Scholarship, a Professorial Chair, and the Rene Maquiling Scholarship.

SUAANYNJ Immediate Past President (2024–2026) Juliesette D. Hatulan personally visited the campus during the week-long Founders Day Celebration last August 24 – 30, 2026, to hand over the significant contribution. This followed an initial turnover of a USD 1,000 scholarship check to Dr. Lily Ann Bautista, SU Vice President for Academic Affairs and Research, during the alumni gathering at Tipon Silliman in Chicago, last July 25-28, 2026.
“The collective efforts of the SUAANYNJ Chapter officers and members (2024-2026) to raise these funds are our way of giving back to our beloved alma mater,” Hatulan shared, emphasizing the chapter’s mission to uplift the next generation of Sillimanians.

The SUAANYNJ chapter has long been a reliable partner in supporting the university’s diverse initiatives. Their track record spans from providing crucial financial aid to working students to reinforcing the university’s Calamity and Response Program during times of crisis.
In a separate turnover, Hatulan also presented a USD 2,000 check to Adlai J. Amor, President of the Silliman Alumni Association, Inc. (SAAI). This secondary donation is explicitly earmarked for the construction of the New Alumni Hall Building Project, further strengthening the physical legacy of global alumni engagement on campus.
