A delegation from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in Lubbock, Texas, USA, visited Silliman University (SU), through the College of Nursing, on September 28, 2026, as part of its annual international educational tour.

The delegation included the TTUHSC Global Studies Director, faculty members, support staff, and students from its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Advanced Practice Registered Nursing (APRN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and Master of Public Health (MPH) programs.

TTUHSC is one of the collaborative partners of the SU College of Nursing (SUCN).

During the five-day visit, the delegation will participate in a series of academic, clinical, and community-based activities with SUCN faculty and students. These include a campus tour and orientation, courtesy visits to SU officials and the Dumaguete City Health Office, hospital tours and clinical immersions, a community senior health fair in Barangay Bajumpandan, and activities at the Talay Rehabilitation Center.

The program will also include cultural immersion activities, complementary and alternative medicine and acupressure sessions, a herbal medicines laboratory activity, community engagements in Barangay Piapi, and a Barangay Health Worker’s Seminar.

The visit will conclude with a culmination, debriefing, and celebration on October 2.

The educational tour provides opportunities for TTUHSC and SU students and faculty to engage in academic exchange, clinical exposure, community health activities, and cross-cultural learning.
