“Half Disclosure,” a poem by Asst. Prof. Angela Gabrielle Fabunan, a faculty member of the Creative Writing Program under Silliman University’s Department of English and Literature, has been shortlisted for the 2026 Montreal International Poetry Prize.

Fabunan’s poem was among 58 works shortlisted from more than 4,400 entries. The shortlist was selected by an international jury of poets and critics composed of Sinéad Morrissey, Felicity Plunkett, Sheryda Warrener, Iona Lee, Sithembele Isaac Xhegwana, Boris Dralyuk, Sachiko Murakami, Kayla Czaga, Brandy Nālani McDougall, Robin S. Ngangom, Jaswinder Bolina, and Derek Webster.

Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Natalie Diaz serves as this year’s final judge and will select the winning poem from the shortlisted works.

Held every two years, the Montreal International Poetry Prize is considered among the most prestigious international poetry prizes. It awards CAD 20,000 for a single poem of 40 lines or fewer, making it one of the world’s largest monetary prizes for a single poem.

“Half Disclosure” will be published in The Montreal Poetry Prize Anthology and can be read on the Montreal International Poetry Prize website: https://www.montrealpoetryprize.com/2026-poems/half-disclosure
