Happy 111th Founders Day!
Silliman University has gone a long way, since it was established on August 28, 1901. Etched in its century-old history are events that chronicle the extent to which Silliman continues to play a role in shaping the future of the Filipino nation.
It is humbling for us in the University to have been blessed with the opportunity and challenge to carry on the legacy of the founders of this great Christian higher education institution. Born of a tri-focal ministry of teaching, preaching and healing, Silliman University attests to the greatness of our Creator. And the amount of love and care that many have showered upon it has allowed the University to reach out to and impact more.
As we celebrate our Alma Matter’s 111th Founders Day within and beyond its Portals, let us be reminded as Sillimanians to lead our lives as lenses through which others can view the beauty that surrounds us, amidst imperfection.
Let us keep aflame the Silliman Spirit as we each greet each other Happy Founders Day!
