Grade 4 Pupil Awarded Youngest Lady Shooter
A pupil of the Elementary Department of Silliman University received a special award as the youngest lady shooter during the Asia-Pacific GLOCK Invitational shootfest held November 25 to 27 in Mactan, Cebu.
The event, which was organized by the Cebu Pistol and Rifle Association (CPRA) and participated in by practical shooting aficionados around the country and the Asia Pacific, recognized Nicole Marie “Cola” D. Tagle for her “form” and “precision”.
Tagle, who is only 10 years old, is in Grade 4.
GLOCK Asia-Pacific Limited, one of the sponsors, through its managing director Sven de Souter, honored Tagle with a brand new GLOCK safe action pistol which bears an engraving of her name.
Only two GLOCK pistols were supposed to be given away, in celebration of CPRA's 30th founding anniversary: one for the 30th placer and another for the winner of the raffle during awarding ceremonies. But Tagle impressed the organizers and the sponsors that she was given a coveted personalized pistol. Other winners received trophies.
Tagle is a member of the Dumaguete Shootists Association (DSA). DSA, which program is enrolled in by businessmen, judges and law enforcers, among others, seeks to develop strong analytical skills and highlights responsible gun use.
