Archers Bajado, Hastie Bag Medals in National Sports Tourney
Two more students from the Junior High School won in their respective categories in archery during the national games, Palarong Pambansa, held last month in Vigan.
Ferimi Bajado clinched a gold medal in the team event and a silver in the Olympic round. Her fellow player and schoolmate Carson Hastie brought home a total of three medals: silver in the 30m event and a bronze each in the 70m and mixed team categories.
Archery is one of the sports that Sillimanians excel in. The University has produced three Olympians: Jennifer Chan, Lisa Ygnalaga and Mark Javier; and one of the celebrated young Filipino archers who have been winning in international tournaments and is being eyed as a future Olympian is another student from Junior High, Nicole Marie Tagle.
