Alumni gives back through scholarship

Silliman alumnus, Mr. Rudy N. Figueroa (BBA ’68), made a courtesy visit with Silliman University (SU) President Dr. Betty Cernol McCann at her office on the second floor of the Leopoldo Ruiz Administration Hall last April 22, 2024. Mr. Figueroa and his wife Mrs. Ruby Abiera-Figueroa (Journalism ’69) recently donated US$20,000.00 through the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia (UBCHEA) in support of the Ruby Abiera & Rudy N. Figueroa Scholarship Trust Fund. Mr. Figueroa expressed his and his wife’s desire to annually provide additional funds to support students through the Figueroa Scholarship Trust Fund. Present during the courtesy visit of Mr. Rudy N. Figueroa were Ms. Glynnis Jean C. Casiño, officer-in-charge of Office of Strategic Partnerships, and Mr. Ruben N. Bokingo, director of Alumni and External Affairs. The Figueroas are based in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
