SUAANYNJ hosts visiting SU alumni

The Silliman University Alumni Association New York-New Jersey (SUAANYNJ) chapter recently hosted two visiting Sillimanians, Aprille Roselle Vince Juanillo (Mass Com 2020) and Renz Macion (Mass Comm Summer 2018) last May 18, 2024, at Tito Rad’s Grill, Queens Boulevard, Woodside, New York.

Present during the fellowship lunch were the officers of SUAANYNJ chapter with Silliman University Trustee Evangeline Bravo-Manjares.

Macion expressed his gratitude to SUAANYNJ chapter in his Facebook post: “The Silliman spirit is truly one of a kind. I had the chance to meet the Silliman University Alumni Association of New York and New Jersey earlier, and they celebrated my birthday with me. Though I am miles away from home, they made me feel right at home. Thank you for this, Titas!”

It was the second time Juanillo was hosted by the SUAANYNJ chapter. The first time was in 2020 when she attended the 25th Youth Assembly at the New York University and Hunter College.

Both Juanillo and Macion attended the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) in Washington, D.C. Juanillo is representing the Philippines in the YSEALI Executive Steering Committee while Renz Macion is doing a YSEALI academic fellowship at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
