Christmas Night with the SU President. The Silliman Alumni Association, Inc. Davao City Chapter had Pres. Betty Cernol-McCann as guest of honor for its annual Christmas party last December 1. the party was held at Club Samal Resort, Samal Island. The alumni gathering was aptly named A Christmas Night with the Silliman University President. Dr. McCann shared her four major development projects, namely, the modernization of the Main Library, an environmental learning resource center, an eco-park, a convention center, and continuing the tradition of scholarships for deserving but resource-challenged students.

Outstanding Sillimanian Awardee (OSA) for Entrepreneurship 2009, Eduardo A. Bangayan, hosted the alumni gathering at his resort – Club Samal. Also present was another OSA, Fele D. Magdamo, a retired nurse from New York who now resides in Davao City. Alumni chapter representatives coming from as far as Kidapawan City, North Cotabato, GenSan, Bukidnon, Butuan, Dumaguete and New York and Texas in the United States joined the early Christmas party.
